We have been wanting this lens for some time now and finaly purchased it last week before our weekend of weddings. For the photographers out there this is a f 1.2 L series lens ( I know you can see that on the box!) which copes brilliantly in very low light conditions. Also, in non technical terms, it creates a dreamy haze around the edge of the image which reduces distraction from the subject. I, Emma, used it for a lot of the day during both weddings at the weekend and loved it. I was amazed that Ian didn’t put up a fight over who’s kit it was starting off in! I didn’t hog it though, Ian had his opportunity later in the day.
The depth of focus using f1.2 is very, very shallow. Here are a few test shots.
