Now for the big day! At last, I hear you say! Monday 24th August, Bellagio, Lake Como. The weather couldn’t have been better, the sun shone for the entire day and Ian and I baked all day, but it was well worth it. Lorraine was super relaxed as she arranged flowers in the candelabras in her bridal suite overlooking the swimming pool and lake. Friends came and went to share a glass of champagne and have their hair done. Everyone meet on the terrace at 3pm before heading down to get the boat to the wedding venue villa Balbianello a stunning villa set on the lake that has been used in movies such as ‘Star Wars’, ‘A month on the lake’ and ‘Casino Royale’.

Lorraine had a gorgeous 50′s style dress that she accessorised differently though out the day to create very different looks. Starting with the lace overdress, pink sash and tiara. Then changing the shoes and losing the lace for the Dolce vita look. Myself, Brahim and most of the guests headed off first and Ian, Lorraine and Dave and a couple of friends followed us over giving time to decorate the terrace ready for the grand arrival.

The walk through the streets of Bellagio was a photographers dream, Ian loved every minute, I think Lorraine did too!!

The bond style boat that took them over was fabulous, perfect transport to a perfect venue.

As we neared closer to the venue, it’s beauty and grandeur was just overwhelming.

This was certainly a ceremony we won’t forget. The setting, the people and the words resulted in not one dry eye.

“I knew you existed long before I found you. Serendipity brought us together…but it will be our shared love and commitment that will keep us together”.

“I give you my hand today – hold it always”.
“here is my hand to hold with you, to bind us for life so I may grow old with you”.

This part of the ceremony was so moving, Helen was asked to present the rings in any way she chose. Everyone moved from their seats and joined hands around a small pond. The box containing the rings was then passed round to each guest for them to make a wish for Lorraine and Brahim either silently or aloud. At this point we all needed tissues!

“The lighting of the candle marks the end of a remarkable solo personal journey, and the start of an exciting journey together. But the courtship should not end with the honeymoon – rather this is the beginning of your exciting journey together.”

Elation and jubilation after an inspiring, emotional and heartfelt ceremony. Now the party begins!

Next….the amasing Loggia where the table was set for an Italian feast under the stars, and the end of our unforgettable Italian wedding experience.
