What a pleasure it was to capture this at home Newborn photo shoot with Emily & Jack. It’s always an honour to be asked to capture such early memories of parents with their precious little ones, even more so when we have photographed the couple before. We first met Emily & Jack in 2019 when they started planning their wedding at Fanhams Hall. The pandemic delayed their wedding until the summer of 2021 when we captured their beautiful summer wedding.
Three and a half years later and little Sophie arrived. We travelled to their home in London for the photo shoot. An ‘at home’ newborn shoot is very different to a studio newborn shoot and we love them both. At home we work with natural light and the space the clients have, creating more of a lifestyle feel to the photographs. At our home studio, although very relaxed, the images are more structured and we use a mixture of natural light and studio lighting. This allows us to control the light regardless of the weather, to capture beautifully lit images.

Below are some highlights from Emily & Jacks wedding. Their ceremony took place in Hertford followed by the reception at Fanhams Hall. Despite reduced covid restrictions it was a gorgeous day of love and laughter.
This grand Jacobean mansion house is a stunning setting for a wedding. The space, architecture and grounds are so impressive. It really is a photographers dream.

Emily & Jack’s first experience of a professional photoshoot and the start of our journey capturing them. Their pre wedding shoot took place in the month of June, perfect for capturing them in the wisteria walkway at Fanhams.
These shoots are very informal and designed to put couples at ease in front of the camera. We took a walk through the grounds chatting and getting to know them, stopping to capture them with these natural backgrounds.
After Emily & Jack’s pre wedding shoot they emailed, “We just wanted to say thank you so much for today – Jack and I had a great time, and you really put us at ease!”
