Family photo shoot in St.Albans

The next family shoot we wanted to share with you was taken at Louise & Iain’s home in St.Albans with their two children. They had a beautiful large garden which we took all the photos in, and although a little nippy (early November shoot) the light was gorgeous. “We knew we wanted to capture some moments with the kids, but were not excited by a studio experience.  Having recently moved to our new house we felt it would be special to have some photos in the garden to chart their growing up in our new home.  I saw an advertisement in the NCT Seeds and Saplings magazine, and after reviewing the website and talking to Emma felt that a family shoot at home

Family Lifestyle shoots in Harpenden, Wheathampstead, St.Albans

We wanted to share some family shoots we have not yet blogged from last year – better late than never! Ian and I have brilliant fun photographing children and getting to know the families. A couple of the shoots were of families we have previously photographed, which is not only a huge compliment that they have returned to us for more photos, but wonderful for us to see how the children and family have grown. These were all taken in familiar surroundings to the families, often their garden or nearby park. Places where the children could feel relaxed and free to play and be captured without the pressure of performing for the camera. First are William and Henry who we photographed at home

Hannah & Tom’s Wedding Offley Place

Last Friday was Hannah & Tom’s wedding in Welwyn garden city followed by their reception at Offley Place near Hitchin.  We have shot at Offley a few times this year and really love this venue.  As well as having lovely grounds, the rooms inside are gorgeous too – plus the food is superb which always helps! This was a family affair with lots of lovely details and family members contributing in their own special way. Hannah’s Mum had grown a lot of the flowers used to decorate the church, and made the cake along with the men’s cravats and her grandsons outfit, and Hannah’s brother played the cello note perfect during the signing of the register. Hannah & Tom were both brimming with

Not just clients

Being self-employed is incredibly hard work but I wouldn’t change it for the world! We are blessed that every day we do something we are passionate about and that is more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. We have just completed four weddings in two weeks and although are now pretty exhausted, are proud of what we have achieved for four wonderful and very different couples. It’s a real honour to be entrusted by a couple to be responsible for capturing the most important day in their life, and although it sounds corny, I really mean it. The journey we take with our couples is special and unique. It’s this journey that makes our job so rewarding and turns clients into real

NCT Bluebell wood shoot

At the end of last month we did a day long shoot in the local bluebell woods in Harpenden. We did this in conjunction with the NCT, we could’nt  have asked for a better day. It was the warmest it has been in ages and the woods were a welcome shade. Below is just a small selection from the day. A big thank you to all the families that came along.
