We have returned back to the office after a truly wonderful few days in Beaulieu in the New Forest for Emma & Mike’s wedding. They chose the beautiful Montagu Arms for their country retreat wedding which we had the pleasure of photographing. It was our first visit to this part of the country and combined with the stunning weather it was a perfect working get away. We met up with Emma & Mike at the hotel the afternoon before the wedding to go through the final plans and check out the photo opportunities ready for the wedding day.
On the morning of the wedding I drove to Careys Manor to photograph Emma’s preparations while Ian was with Mike back at the Montagu. The drive through the forest was interesting to say the least, having to maneuver round roaming cows and horses on the road – quite bizarre to see for a townie!
Emma was piped into the ceremony in the magnolia lounge, to an eagerly awaiting Mike for a very personal and emotional ceremony. They had a unique message for each other, which they read aloud during the ceremony. On their request we then whisked them away for some photographs in Beaulieu village, which included a quick ice cream stop, before returning to the drinks reception in the colourful and tranquil gardens.
Emma & Mike enhanced the country feel of their wedding with their details which included handmade fabric bunting and peonies in large jars as table centre pieces. We took advantage of the evening sun and walked to the water for some final shots. The evening was soon in full swing with a Ceilidh band followed by a hog roast to round up their memorable day.
