I wrote this while sitting on our grass terrace overlooking lake Como at our gorgeous hotel in Bellagio.
The view is magnificent; I can hardly believe I am here. The weather is beautiful, hot with a gentle lake breeze. We are enjoying our last day here of our week long stay that has been the biggest adventure since starting our business.
We were commissioned to photograph Lorraine and Brahim’s 4 day wedding extravaganza after meeting them at their friends, Nicola & Dave’s wedding which we photographed.
This extended wedding celebration began early on a Friday afternoon at Chelsea registry office for a very quick, yet beautifully conducted civil ceremony. En route we stopped at Liberty’s to pick up a bouquet, a head of purple hydrangeas – perfect!
We then jumped in a taxi and took a whistle stop tour round London’s most famous landmarks for some fun shots, it was hilarious just a shame the security guards at some of these places were not so accommodating!
After a fab lunch at Zumo, we collected our suitcases and headed for the airport. Italy here we come!
So Friday night we arrived at our hotel in Bellagio, Lake Como after an ‘Italian Job’ style drive from the airport! All exhausted but excited about the next few days and to see the views in daylight. We had driven alongside the lake for what seemed like hours before arriving at the hotel but could not imagine the beauty that awaited us in the morning. The weather couldn’t have been better, the sun shone for the entire day and Ian and I baked all day, but it was well worth it. Lorraine was super relaxed as she arranged flowers in the candelabras in her bridal suite overlooking the swimming pool and lake. Friends came and went to share a glass of champagne and have their hair done. Everyone meet on the terrace at 3pm before heading down to get the boat to the wedding venue villa Balbianello a stunning villa set on the lake that has been used in movies such as ‘Star Wars’, ‘A month on the lake’ and ‘Casino Royale’.
Here is a small selection of the many photographs we took…
