Pregnancy & Newborns FAQs

How soon after the shoot do we view our photos and how do we view them?

You can view your photographs approximately 10 days after the shoot. At the time of the shoot we will arrange a date for you to come to view your images at our home studio near Harpenden. Viewings take place during the week in the day or evening and take around 2 hours. During this time we will show you a slide show of the images that will be in a mixture of colour and black and white. Then, guided by you we will help you to narrow down your favourites and choose how you would like them displayed. Framed images will be ready 4-5 weeks after ordering. Full payment is required before your order goes into production.

What do I need to bring to the shoot?

We have props, wraps and blankets so there is no need to bring anything in particular. If you have been knitted a blanket or your newborn was given a special toy/teddy feel free to bring them along.

When is the best time to photograph a newborn?

We feel the best time to photograph a newborn is within the first 2 weeks of birth.  This is of course a guide as everyones circumstances are different.  If there are no complications and you are happy to venture out, within the first week of birth would be perfect!

When should I book my pregnancy/newborn photo shoot?

If you are interested in having a pregnancy or newborn shoot we suggest giving us a call to have a chat through your individual requirements. In the mean time…

Unless you are pregnant with twins we would suggest arranging your photoshoot for around week 36. If you are having twins this may be around week 32-34.  As your pregnancy progresses and your due date is clear, get in touch and we can discuss your shoot and arrange a date.

It is advisable to contact us while you are still pregnant, to pencil in a date based around your due date.  This date is flexible as we fully understand that babies don’t always arrive on time!
